CHS Freshmen vs. Little Elm - Game Summary (Oct 25, 2007)

The Titans Freshman team took on the Little Elm Lobos at CHS on Thursday night.  The White team took the field first and looked very good on both sides of the ball.  Defensively, Sean Boyd and Marc Stewart both played extremely well.  On the offensive side of the ball the boys were once again unstoppable.  Long Runs by Mack Fitzgerald and Ryan Abraham put the Titans in scoring position.  The lone touchdown was scored by Ryan Abraham and it came off a great block the offensive line.  The final score was 22-6 in favor of the Lobos.

The Blue team played their best defensive game of the year.  The boys held the Lobos to only 14 points on the night and that was very hard earned.  The defensive player of the game was newcomer from the White team Jong Lee.  From his defensive end position he recorded three sacks, two tackles for a loss, and nine tackles total.  Joe Wharton had several great catch-and-runs for the Titans.  In the end, the Titans lost 14-0.

CHS Freshmen vs. Liberty HS - White Team Game Summary

In a situation, the white team was not able to play the Raccoon since they do not have a second team.  However, the new Liberty High School needed a game and the Titans were able to oblige.  It was a great follow-up game to the one before.  A very exciting contest ended up with the Titans losing 25-17.  The Titans had their chances but could not contain the one man attack of the Red hawks.  The Titan offense had a great game but was not able to put up the necessary point to take home the victory.  Ryan Abraham put the offense on his back and scored on a 28 yard touchdown run and also scored a 2 pt conversion.  The other touchdown for the Titans came on a great defensive play as Jong Lee was able to jar the ball loose and Ardalan Rashidi came up from the bottom of the pile with the ball and his first touchdown of his life.  Offensive standouts on the night were Joel Lomax, Mark Stewart, and stepping in at quarterback was Mack Fitzgerald.

CHS Freshmen vs. Frisco HS - Blue Team Game Summary

The Titans played their arch rival at Memorial Stadium on Thursday night.  Both teams were evenly matched which provided the fans with a great game to watch.  The Raccoons had a difficult time stopping the passing attack of Reid Cure to Clay Williford.  When the Titans needed a big play, it seemed like they were able to connect every time.  Vinny Chavez put the Titans on the board early with an 18 yard run around the right end.  Great blocks by Joe Wharton and Dylan McDonald helped Chavez light up the scoreboard.  Dante Dunston scored on a 38 yard touchdown pass in the second half on an acrobatic catch and run.  The Titan defense played a great game forcing two turnovers late in the game.  Unfortunately, CHS could not capitalize on FHS errors and lost the contest 21-14.

Titans earn first win of season against McKinney North 42-10.

The Titan Varsity football team got into the win column in a big way last Friday night.  They faced the undefeated, 6th ranked team in the area, McKinney North Bulldawgs. . .and beat them in dominating fashion 42-10.

DJ Miller started off the scoring with an exciting 92 yard kickoff return.  The offense, led by Ryan Mossakowski and Brian Singer, found holes in the Bulldog defense early and often.

Singer had 10 catches for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Mossakowski threw for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns.  The offensive line opened up running lanes for running backs Aaron Kirkpatrick, Jason Ryu, Crosby Butler, and Jon Smith.  Kirkpatrick and Smith both scored a rushing touchdown.  The Titans rushed for 108 yards, which is the best total so far this year.

The stone wall Titan defense, led by Jay Laurent, Randall Bell, Max Marr, and DJ Miller, held McKinney North to 10 points, which is by far their lowest point total of the year.  The defense made big play after big play all night.  Everytime McKinney North made adjustments, the defense was ready.

This week is a huge game against the Frisco High Racoons at Pizza Hut Park on Friday night.

The freshman teams went up against McKinney North at home this week.   The White team defense pitched a shutout in the first half.  Also, the Titans came away with a total of three turnovers.  Jordan Merrick and Stanley Lu both had pick-offs and Lu’s turned his into a 52 yard touchdown.  Sean Boyd played a key role at the end of the game with a perfectly defended pass on the goal line that would have given the Bulldogs a sure win.   Touchdowns were scored by the Titan offense on a run of  runs by Ryan Abraham and Dwight Massaquoi.  The final score was 18-13 and the White team’s overall record rose to 3-3.

The Blue team took on a tough opponent but fought hard the entire game.  Vinny Chavez was able to step in at quarterback and lead the Titans down the field.  Good defensive games were played by Donald “Duck” Guillory and Nigel Kirby.  Kyle Nobles was the team’s leading tackler on the night with a total of 16 tackles.

Freshman Centennial Blue vs. Sachse Mustangs (9-13-07)

The Titans first home game of the season was on Thursday night against the Sachse Mustangs.  The game started off quickly and looked to be somewhat of a track-meet.  With Nick Foster nursing an injury, Reid Cure was called upon to lead the Blue team at quarterback.  Cure answered the bell with 273 yards passing.  Kyle Nobles scored a touchdown from 2 yards out.  The play of the night was a long pass from Reid Cure to Richard McGuire that went for 68 yards and got the Titans back into the game.  Defensive standouts on the night were Tiki Barber and Alex Cordova.

Good luck next week as the Titans travel to face West Mesquite.

Freshman Centennial White vs Forney White (9-06-07)

In the opening game against Forney the Titan Blue team went on the road and played a hard fought game against the Jackrabbits.  At the half the Titans were only down 7-3 and the score came on a 32 yard field goal by Clay Williford.  Defensive standouts on the night were Clay Nobles and Vinny Chavez.  Nick Foster had a great night passing with 239 yards and the offensive line was able to give him plenty of time to find his receivers and pick the Forney defensive unit apart.  The Titans came up short on a couple of long drives and in the end dropped their opener with a final tally of 20-3

Good luck next week against Sachse.

In an extremely exciting game, the White Team came back from a 14 point deficit to win 20-14. The defense was led by Michael Gualtney, Chase Eickenhorst, and Ivan Vasquez.
